Wondering what all the construction and road work is all about on County Road 210 near US 1 in St. Augustine / St. Johns? This area from US1 heading West towards I 95 will be widened to six lanes as the construction for St. Johns County newest community, Twin Creeks St. Johns at 210 is under way.
Jacksonville Business Journal published this article today that the crystal-clear waters of a man-made lagoon in northern St. Johns County could soon be moving closer to a reality as earthmovers widen Country Road 210.
As reported earlier this year, the Twin Creeks master planned community could include a 14-acre lagoon ringed by sandy beaches and mixed-use developments for retail shops and residents.
John Kinsey the developer of Twin Creeks, said he wasn’t ready to unveil the plans for the project, but with $35 million in road construction underway, big things are happening.
The road construction will widen County Road 210 to six lanes throughout Twin Creeks and four lanes from the western edge to I-95.
Twin Creeks is located one mile east of the I-95 interchange at County Road 210. Some plans show 800 residential units, one million square feet of retail and commercial space, 700,000 square feet of office space and an almost two-million-square-foot industrial/office park.
The development has rights to build 3,000 houses.
Crystal Lagoons US Corp. is the company that developed the technology for the lagoon.
Crystal Lagoons CEO Uri Mann has previously told the Jacksonville Business Journal that there are 11 lagoons planned for the U.S. The lagoon will cost between $200,000 to $250,000 an acre, Man has said.
Kinsey said his development team will be the ones to construct the lagoon.
In addition, the World Golf Village Blog reports that this newly announced Twin Creeks community adjacent to US 1 at CR 210 includes plans to build two schools, one for K-8 students and a high school.
